While the process is a bit of a pain in the rear, this kit allows you to replace the stripped steering hinge pin without having to pull the engine out of the boat. I ended up having to do that anyway after I found some other issues, but had already used this kit with success. Works as advertised, but not for use by a greenhorn. Some mechanical ability, tools, and knowledge is necessary.

I was able to get to the bolt to tighten up the steering arm and took all the slack out of my outdrive. No more constantly overcorrecting and correcting in my steering!
