I was fixing up a 2012 Chevy Sonic that had been mostly cared for, but the rear wiper motor mount bracket was broken into multiple pieces and the wiper motor was flopping around in bumps and at speed. Someone had tried to patch it all together with some nasty cement, possibly a window replacement company. (I found chunks of the broken rear window in the tailgate, too. I believe my friend, the previous owner, misjudged an opening garage door.)I originally ordered a Chinese work-a-like off of another shopping site, and not only did it arrive with its plastic mount cracked, its motor was a different shape and it did not fit. So I had to send it back.I ordered this OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) part and not only did the pictures look the same, when it arrived, the black plastic mount, yellow stickers on the motor, and everything looked exactly like the original. EXCEPT not broken! It wasn't even packed as carefully as the Chinese part and it survived shipping better.JUST IN CASE, I also ordered a new OEM grommet to seal the new motor shaft securely through the glass.Needless to say, the wiper motor installed very easily, seems to work perfectly, and I have a fully functional rear wiper now.I am mentioning the plastic mounting bracket here because in the pictures on Amazon, it looks like it might be made of sheet metal, but the bracket is plastic, just like the original. If the original plastic broke because it was old and brittle, I presume the new one might wear about the same.
