I ordered mainly due to price but it's very stout and easy to install. I predrilled a few 3/8" holes in mine to allow some air to vent but mainly drilled to let things drain out if any water gets in there or debris.

I like the skid plate, tough as nails, wasn't fussy for the cheap brackets/bolts that hold it on the bike. They were difficult to get into place and one stripped out on me when i tried to tighten it down. Had to fit another nut and bolt through the existing one in order to get it all tightened up.(that was so much fun!... NOT!)The skid plate rates a 5 star but the mounting hardware is more of a 3 star IMO

I chose this skid plate because metal ones deflect engine noise to your direction, this plastic protector is very sturdy and will protect your engine just as effective.Very easy to install and looks awesome on the bike, the price is excellent, good value for the money like most Acerbis products. I have the 20L tank, the handguards and the frame protector, all from Acerbis, zero complaints.

So I opened the box and I was rather surprised to see such a thick piece of plastic skid plate. Everyone says to get this one and not the metal or alum ones and now I see why. Its very sturdy and fits like a glove. I did add blue locktite to the 4 bolts though for some added confidence. It looks so good, I may have to see it they have one available for my T7 !

Installed a few weeks back…. A little finicky fitting the clamps on down tubes of frame!Been out for a few rides and feel a little more confident with extra protection!

Very good protection for the money. Lightweight as well and doesn’t reflect too much engine noise upward. Couple of tips… the inside of the plate has dimples for you to drill holes to help with drainage and ventilation. It’s easy enough and doesn’t hurt the integrity of the plate at all. Also, it does a great job at not reflecting as much noise as the metal plates but it’s still noticeable. If you take spray-on bed liner (rattle can stuff) and coat the inside it helps with the noise significantly.

Very stout and durable. Not too hard to install, a little tricky to get front brackets and bolts together but still only took a few minutes. It gives good coverage to bottom of engine, frame and case sides. I did actually have to carefully use a utility knife to notch out for my stock shifter which was originally rubbing against the edge of the skid plate and hanging up a bit. The easiest way to do this is to heat up the edge of utility blade and then the plastic cuts pretty easily. They’ve been making the skid plate for a long time, they have to know about this issue so I think they should probably do that for you or just their mold a little bit do you have a little bit of room for the shifter. That being said I still love the skid plate and I’m glad that I bought it. I’ve had an Acerbis skid plate before and found it to be very durable.

Passt an die Suzuki DR 650 SE SP46.Einfacher Anbau, war in ca 15-20 min. montiert.Hat mir mittlerweile schon den Motor gerettet. Absolut stabil, auch wenn es mal härter zugeht.Sieht dazu auch noch gut aus.Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist top.Meine Kaufempfehlung.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the Acerbis skid plate, but I did run into a couple of issues. The two bolts that secure the rear edge of the skid plate to the frame were too short. I was only able to get three or four threads into the welded nuts on the frame. Also, the external dimension of the washers for the forward mount was too small. Even modest torque on the bolt started pulling the bolt head and washer through the pre-cut slot in the plastic. I was able to find longer bolts (+5mm) and larger washers at our neighborhood hardware store. In the end, it fits very nicely and seems to be a bit quieter than the aluminum plate I have been using.
