Seller was top notch and shipped right away. No complaints there.I have had great luck with Acerbis products on my dirt bikes for many years, but this skid plate fitment was pretty disappointing (2024 Yamaha YZ250F). The skid plate coverage is much more than in previous years, such as flares on the plate that sweep further back to partially cover the clutch and stator covers now. However, the foot peg protection would block the skid plate from sliding easily into place requiring a lot of force and a mallet to coax into position. There is not an oil drain hole either, so you will have to deal with this every time for service. I wound up cutting off the foot peg flare outs on the plate. Additionally, the clearances were too tight resulting in the plate touching the water pump cover/elbow, which after vibrations from the engine could wear down the case causing a pinhole leak. I had to grind off material to make clearance for the hose to the water pump, the water pump housing, and for a bolt on the stator side to no longer touch when installed. The front bolt for securing the plate to the frame lined up well (on the right side of the frame), but the hole for the rear bolt on the bottom was offset. I had to grind out the slot for the bottom bolt hole even further back to allow it to fit properly and easily. And for not having much clearance around the engine, the linkage protection hangs down a few inches away, which seems excessively low. Hopefully after sliding over some logs it'll push the plastic closer.. LOL. Maybe installing on a summer day would've resulted in an easier fitment, but I would expect enough clearance everywhere to allow for that in any temperature. Hoping others have a better experience or maybe Acerbis has made revisions where I am using the earliest version of this example. But just wanted to share and warn others!
