These annular cutters are designed to be used ONLY with a mag drill - they may break in a drill press or a hand held drill. I enlarged an existing hole of 1" diameter to 1 1/8" inch diameter with this cutter. It took a bit to center the cutter in the existing hole, but I was impressed with what you can do with a mag drill and these cutters!!!
