I wanted to like this, but it's virtually impossible to line up well to actually take images. Additionally, the clamps hit right where the buttons are and it would either change volume or turn the phone off. Returned item.

I had high expectations & hopes for this one. But the pads that connect with the sides of the phone kept slipping off bcuz they were not glued. Also, 90% of it is plastic, flimsy, and would not stay in place. Waste of money. Don't recommend. Only giving 1 star due to the low quality of the product, but 5 stars for the quick delivery. So overall a generous 3...

I got this to use with a binocular microscope in a teaching lab. It’s the best I’ve tried so far in this price range. It clamps onto the eyepiece firmly, holds the phone securely, and is fairly easy to align the phone camera with the eyepiece. The plastic seems good quality. At this price, all of that merits 5 stars. There’s just one problem, and I’ll have to modify the holder to overcome that problem. All the eyepieces in my lab are of the “eyeglasses” type, meaning that the eye is held 5-10mm from the eyepiece (to accommodate glasses wearers). This scope mount holds the camera too close to the eyepiece. I’m not deducting a star for this because all but the most expensive ($80) of the mounts I’ve tested has this problem. Fortunately, I should be able to find a longer thumbscrew for the phone attachment and add some rubber washers to hold the phone further back. I’ll then need to add some shielding to keep stray light from entering between camera and eyepiece. As mods go, this isn’t too bad.
