So far it does a great job of holding firmly. The screw knob is easy to grip.

I have an old Felker Tile Master saw (bought in 1988) and it fits the board great. Some reviews suggest the plastic knob on the set screw can twist loose and I can see how that could happen but so far there has been no need to really torque it very much to get it set tight. I'm very happy with it.

The plastic thumb screw handle stripped its threads within two days of use. The unit would be much more durable if supplied with a metal thumb screw.
