These poles went together very well and are very easy to use... A very small complaint is that the top of the pole which has a little peg to go through the grommets of your tent or shelter, can poke holes in other items in your pack.... get a little piece of cloth or leather and wrap up the tips of the poles so that they are not poking on other items when putting them back into your pack

Got 2 sets of these (4 poles total) to use with a 10x16 tarp, 100ft of paracord (cut into 8 equal lengths, 2 cords per pole) and some 12 inch stakes.Everything worked as planned. The poles go together and come apart easily. The pins on the end of the pole go through the tarp eyelets and the loop on the cord just fine. Everything stayed tight and stable for the 3 days it was up. Rained a lot for 2 days, not much wind though. I was never worried about the poles being too stressed, they seemed fine and stable under the tension. My setup used 6 sections for 2 poles, and 4 sections for the other 2 to create a slope for the rain. Packed it up and 1 bag would fit all 4 poles, so i used the other bag to hold the cordage and stakes. Weight seemed fine as this will be going in the car and not for hiking. It was a little lighter than I expected, but sturdy nonetheless.

I use these with my car tent, to hold the door flap up. Instant shelter from sun and rain. I like them better than the kind with a bungee inside (like extendable tent poles) you can just use a couple to make the shelter more enclosed against directional wind /rain

I like the fact that you can adjust the height of them for what you need

These work well, adjusting the height with the number of sections is simple. but these need tarps with grommets at the corners to poke the pole end through. Regular nylon camping tarps have tie-out straps, not grommets. The plastic tarps for everything from cover to yard work, do have metal grommets.
