This transom saver kit is perfect for my small boat. It redirects some of the outboard motor weight and force into the trailer cross bar, alleviating load and cycling on the transom. It's a cheap insurance policy against transom cracking/damage. Quality of the hardware is excellent and should provide years of service.

Pretty good for the price. I'm using it on a smaller motor and boat so it should be plenty strong for my application. Install was easy and it does what it should.Only complaint is that the included bungee straps used to secure everything are the cheap rubberish ones that literally disintegrate under the sun. I don't trust them at all and will find a better solution.

I bought this boat used. The boat is over 20 years old. The trailer is homemade and had no transom support. I was a 3 hour drive from where I was taking the boat. I bought a 2x8 and rigged it to hold the motor. It worked great but took a lot of strapping to get it to hold in place. This transom saver is pretty good. The fingers that fit to either side of the motor are hard plastic. My old one on another boat was soft rubber. Also there are no lock washers included. Some of the nuts are nylon lock nuts. Needs a few tweaks to be a great transom saver but will do the job for me.

This brace for outboard motors during transport is simple and effective in helping to distribute the forces from road bumps and jostling to the trailer frame. Definitely reassuring to have.
