As an adult, I preview toys like this for grandkids. The pieces did not fit together well at all. The stickers could not be applied to the pieces once the pieces were in place, but could not be applied before the item was built. The instructions were also poor, and a child could not decipher them on his/her own! I have tried 4 building bricks (off-brand) Advent Calendars, and this one at the bottom.

These are not LEGO. They are difficult to put together, difficult to stay together and instructions are very small and difficult to follow.

This was the question my daughter had when she realized -- to make the big unicorn and dinosaur -- you have to dismantle all the smaller animals. To spend every morning for 24 days putting things together, just to have to break them apart was emotionally upsetting to her. She cried and cried. That said, the animals are cute and easy to put together.

This is a great advent calendar as your child not only opens a daily gift, but it's a gift that requires assembly through building blocks. Perfection. A gift that is also an activity? You can't go wrong.While we have not assembled any of the animals yet, from peeking in the boxes the building blocks look to be of high quality. Each of the animals shown appear to be fun, and once day 24 arrives, it will be a full playset.A great advent calendar to keep your little one busy!
