I used the Ahhsome cleaning gel in my swim spa (and have before). I always forget what a sticky mess it seems to leave (residue) on the tiles and shell…even when rinsed constantly as draining occurs. I’ve used Clean and Perfect spray on the sticky residue and it worked very well. I tried the Ahhsome brand spray this time and it was not great. It didn’t cut it. I’m not sure if I’ll use the Ahhsome gel again as it’s actually more work than should be. I should clarify that it seems to clean very well, but it leaves residue upon draining that other products don’t. It’s also very expensive.

I didn't expect this to be a gel. It doesn't take much. Easy to use - before you drain the hot tub, just throw some in the tub when the water is hot, then circulate the water for at least 30 minutes. It will foam and pull all the gunk out of the pipes into the water. Right before I drain, I like to swipe the dirty foam out of the tub so it doesn't settle on the bottom when it's done draining. Then I drain and give it a good scrub down and rinse. Refill and the water is crystal clean and clear. We use it for a small Softub. Great product!

This stuff works way better than any other hot tub flush i've used. The first time i used it i was surprised and disgusted by what came out of my hot tub. Ever since, buildup has been significantly less. I figure it is worth getting the big commercial tub size, as it is shelf stable for years. buy once, cry once.

I've owned spas for 12 years now. This stuff really works well. If you have clear or translucent tubing in your hot tub, shine a light from behind before and after you use this and you'll see that it is actually purging the crud from the plumbing. That crud is bio-film and it builds up in spa plumbing even though you might not ever see it. Bio-film is resistant to your sanitizer, even in high doses. This stuff attacks the protective saccharine layer and breaks the bio-film free. This product is probably the only way to truly clean a neglected or used tub. If you use one of the other (less expensive) products first, you'll get some crud out but you'll be shocked if you do a drain and fill and then use this. Really bad tubs may need a couple or even several drain-fill cycles and a treatment with this with every cycle. This isn't a sanitizer - you have to put a sanitizer in the water and balance ph with every drain and fill when you use this. Chlorine is the way to go (specifically dichlor - not trichlor). I was rehabilitating a used tub and had a lot of problems with using bromine with this - called the manufacturer and he said to do a drain/fill, add dichlor instead of bromine and run one or two more cycles. It only took one. Perfect water now. After you see the disgusting crap that comes out of your plumbing and use this to get it really clean, you will feel great about your spa and never go back to whatever you were doing before. Then drain/fill and use Ahh Some every 2 months (people recommend longer, but spa water is one of those things where it's better to be extra clean) and you won't have any more problems. I stuck with dichlor and then switch to pool bleach (cheap, and they have it at Home Depot) after the cyanuric acid builds up to the right level. Inexpensive and no problems. Keep the levels correct, shock it regularly and your spa won't have that nasty "chlorine stink"!
