20min swap out of Sprocket transforms riding experience. Have yet to test how it impacts the dirt riding experience, but the road riding experience is much improved. Many YouTube videos on changes to RPM are accurate.

I installed this 15 tooth front sprocket to make take offs from a stop easier and with less clutch slippage. The sprocket was a quick install with no shortening of the chain needed.

I was told about this sprocket at a meeting of my local BMW club by someone who had put one on his G310GS. I looked at the forums, and saw a lot of positive comments. One of them mentioned that it worked on later models, which proved true for my 2023 G310R.The primary advantage is you are turning a lower RPM at freeway speeds, which makes long-distance riding less of a chore. I haven’t noticed any problems at low speeds; the engine seems to have enough torque to accelerate from a stop and ride at lower speeds. You might downshift a few times where you didn’t have to before, like climbing a steep hill, but I believe it’s definitely a good trade off.

The 17T sprocket upgrade it great for those who spend a fair amount of time trying to keep up with traffic on the highway. Drops your RPM at higher speeds and hopefully will result in helping the engine last longer. You'll lose a tiny bit of low end, but the gears are spaced so closely together that you'll likely never miss it unless you crawl around in first gear off-road. Even then it's not too much of a difference to be a problem at low speed.The construction of this sprocket seems excellent and it fit easily. It took longer to adjust the chain tension than any other part of the installation- it was a super quick modification.

Received this 17t sprocket and made caliper measurements and it was identical to oem on a 2018 G10r. Install was easy and it made a big difference in engine vibrations at high rpms. Glad it made the swap.
