I used this product for a different reason, for I built new fences around around my yard and didn't want to screw in hooks to hang my xmas lights up each year. For the top of my fence has 2x4 cap running the full lengths of my fence and these brackets adjust perfectly to slide over the 2x4 cap. Hand no issues with them even through a windy snow storm. made it very easy to put the lights up after adjusting them all and made it super easy to take them down.
