This is super easy to install, has a higher inlet flow and a removable filter element which can be easily cleaned. It's a perfect upgrade for your air compressor. Highly recommended.

These filters are a wonderful design, all metal, and look super nice. But the filter media is glued onto the metal end caps with a white glue that is not a hard epoxy, but it is a brittle single stage glue that just dries out and falls apart and big chunks of it go into your compressor, potentially ruining your compressor.If your filter has the cheap white glue holding the filter media onto the metal end caps, then I would suggest not using it.Caveat: They may have solved and improved the glue design. The one I purchased, I bought it about 8 years ago, and it was barely used, and the glue fell apart, and I read a report from another buyer who had the same problem with this design (the steel with the round port on the bottom) filter.INSPECT THE FILTER when you buy it. If it has white glue, don't use it. I'd recommend buying a more expensive one.

I found the 1/2 inch filter housing fit my Harbor freight compressor great. When it came to the air filter itself it looked great but gave great concern since the metal frame around the corrugated paper had a nail polish like coating. Not sure why that was placed on the steel frame of the filter. It concerned me because it was flaking off like a bad case of sunburn and would be sucked into the pump. I did my best to scrape off the paint (gold metallic nail polish like) it was totally all over the metal both on outside and inside. Very strange. I have ordered some replacement filters and hopefully they arrive and look like normal filters.

Had to replace my original air intake filter for my air compressor. Bought one like this that was plastic bodied, it broke. So bought this one made out of metal and it is pretty solid. Quiets the air compressor way down too!
