This is my first purchase of a returned item and probably my last. Although the listing said "like new", whoever provided that assessment had to be working in the dark or couldn't see very well. The housing was bent in several locations. I had to bend it back into shape to get it to work. The bar that holds the light on was very loose, likely due to the abuse the frame went through. I had to use a screw to get tighten it back up. Also, the actual light socket was loose. I had to bend the retaining clip back into shape to get it to work. All that being said, the fan works and is pretty quiet. Like others, I had a really, really hard time getting the light cover on. The retaining clips used to hold it up were really hard to push together and get in the right holes in the space provided. A word of caution...use either a CFL or LED bulb to avoid frequent bulb changes. Once you get the cover on you want it to stay on...like forever.I'd buy this product new again, but not as a warehouse return.

Bought this fan to replace a builder provided 50 CFM Broan unit that had a built in light that was getting unreliable and noisy.Looked at the fancy Panasonics, etc, not in my budget, searched the big box stores, price for CFM needed didn't compare. Checked build quality, prices, and ratings for others, measured the room, decided on this model (100 CFM) to meet the needs. I'm ready to say this Air King is the best kept secret in the fan business.Shipped in a hurry, really liked the quality, and the strength of the frame. Has a real "squirrel cage" Sirocco type fan that really moves the air and is quiet compared to my original. The cover fits close to the ceiling and has a glass lens. Easy install, had to open the hole in the ceiling to handle the rectangular shape, didn't wire the nightlight since I was just replacing an existing fan.Only negative is the strong spring arms that hold the cover on, very functional but you really have to watch them or they will "attack" you while installing if you work too fast like me.After installing it, switched this bad boy on, hit the shower, and guess what? after all these years, the double sink mirror did not fog up. I now understand that with the right exhaust fan, fogging is no longer an option.Sure would have done this one sooner if I had known better. Bottom line...if you want more power, decent build quality, at what I think is a very good price, place your order for an Air King, don't let the brand names fool you. You shouldn't be disappointed with a purchase decision on this one.

This is a well made product. It is made the way ceiling fans use to be made except far more quiet than the old ones. I was just about ready to buy a fan from one of the two box stores in my area but none either of them carried were made in the USA. They all had a cheap look to them. Then I got online and found Air King and read the reviews. I did not find one bad review anywhere so I ordered one for my master-bathroom. I was delighted when it arrived and I took it from the box. The main "box" is sturdy metal construction and the center of the cover is made of real-thick glass...not cheap plastic which will melt or turn color as it ages. It's quiet and moves more air than my old fan. I also bought the Air King 4-function rocker switch at the same time and I'm thrilled with it also. I wired the fan main light, the fan itself, the fan night light, and my main bathroom vanity light all using this one switch and it works great. The night-light in the fan is a great feature. I liked this fan enough that I purchased a second one for my other bathroom. Just a note: the exhaust outlet from this fan is 4-inch diameter...the one from my old fan was only 3-inches so I had to change some exhaust tubing going through the roof. Great product with easy to follow instructions.

I bought a house built in 1970, and all the bathrooms had windows, so none of them had any vent fan. Checking out, these seemed to be from a good brand and assembled in USA. Installed myself and everything went well. Only two minor complaints. The area where the wires are kept in the unit is small. Not too big of a deal. However, the biggest pain was the trim piece that goes onto the unit. The mechanism that holds it in place just seems to have too much tension. So far, the fan is not loud, and pulls a lot of air out of the bathroom. Overall, good product.UPDATE 02/11/16Both are working fine. It is great to have these since one bathroom no longer has a window due to an addition. I upgraded my original 4 star to 5 star. I may put one of these in the half bath downstairs in the house.

I purchased this fan primarily because this was one of the only fans available that took a standard light bulb, not a CFL. I wanted the standard light bulb so I could use it with a dimmer. I am an electrician by trade, but most people who know there way around a hardware store can install this very easily. Another major benefit of this fan is that there is no 3/8" lip around the base of the fan like most other fans have. This means that you can cut the drywall exactly around the fan and it will fit in tight. When you cut the opening out, I recomend laying the fan in place upside down on the ceiling, trace the opening and drill the corners with a 1/2" bit. Then cut the drywall out with a jig saw. Do not lay it in the attic and cut the opening from above - it won't be as clean of an install. The fan is wicked sturdy when installed with the supplied brackets. I ran a bead of low expansion foam around the border to seal it in extra tight. The fan itself is pretty quiet - but not silent. The noise is absolutely fine - it doesn't bother me at all. The fan is super strong - it pulls every ounce of moisture out of the bathroom. I installed the fan with a 2 gang box - a digital timer on the left and a dimmer on the right. I did not hook up the night light, as I did not want to install a 3 gang box, plus I didn't see the need. Overall - I give this fan a solid 5 stars. I have bought 3 more fans this past month for other bathrooms - I like the fan that much.
