3 FIRING MODES: Different denailing jobs require different type of work flow and productivity. Air Locker AP700 denailer comes with 3 firing modes including free, restrictive and contact actuation. This adds versatility to the device as you can choose the right triggering system for the right job.

FREE ACTUATION: It is the simplest but least safe of all firing modes. In this system, you don't need to depress the safety element and can start shooting nails out of the wood right away.

SEQUENTIAL ACTUATION: Also knows as restrictive trigger, this system requires you to depress the safety element against the work surface before you can pull the trigger. This system works best for most jobs.

CONTACT ACTUATION: Also called dual action, this method allows you to keep the trigger pulled as you bounce the safety element against the work surface for continuous denailing. For professionals use only.

SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS: AP700 nail puncher pushes nails out of the wood at immense pressure so it’s safe to use a bucket of water or some sort of soft material underneath the workpiece to prevent ricochets. To ensure safe use, it’s recommended that you use safety glasses.

I use it to make it much easier to remove nails from timber, if necessary, I can take a second shot- usually only required for old hardwood.

This "nail removal" tool is an absolute must when working with pallets. I have my small air compressor set at 70psi and haven't had any issues removing nails from pallets. It really is just a matter of slipping the barrel of the gun over the nail and pressing the trigger. Note that I have only used this TODAY so I'm not able to give a long term review. Comparing traditional hammer and/or pry bar to this gun, the gun takes the cake. I used a trash can to "shoot" my nails into with a cloth on the bottom so to limit the bounce of the nails when being ejected. This method worked very well in that none of the nails bounced out of the trash can.

For the price it does a good job removing nails. Good idea to use a bucket with some rags or something in the bottom to put below the tool otherwise nails can fly out and ricochet around, as they sometimes are ejected very violently.
