I use it in a bodyshop setting drilling through sheetmetal. It works well once you figure out the speed adjustment near the trigger. My shop runs air pressure quite a bit higher than the recommended 90 psi, so the trigger can seem a little stiff, but I suspect at 90 it would be pretty smooth.

For a Jacobs chuck this one is junk, I'll be replacing it with a keyed chuck.

Does exactly what I need it to do. I’d like a little more power from it but I can’t complain I put it through hell and back at work. I work on semi trailers and the makes easy fast work when drilling out rivets from 3/8 stainless bottom rail rivets to 3/16 soft roof rivets

After using this for a while I would not recommend it. Weak detents when switching from forward to reverse, trigger control is also lacking, chuck feels cheap. Spend the extra money on something nicer.

I bought this when I first started working in a truck dealership because I was a broke 19 year old who needed cheap tools quickly. I bought it because of the price but it has been awesome it is just as good as the tool truck drills the older techs use for a fraction of the price. I got it on sale for about $70. As long as you use good drill bits(Irwin cobalt bits) this thing will drill through anything

The AirCat 4338 3/8-Inch air drill does what it's suppose to do and does it well. The first job I used it on was drilling out corroded bolts which is heavy duty work. No problems whatsoever. I own other AirCat tools as well and each of them are a good value for the money. I recommend this product.

I had to replace the IR drill I've had for 15 years because I lent it out to a coworker and he destroyed it. I have just purchased a Nitrocat impact wrench, by the way, by far the best impact wrench I've ever owned, and decided that I'd give Aircat a chance with the drill since I love the Nitrocat so much. Great decision, drill works as good as it looks. Fits well in your hand and is lighter than my old IR. Just to be clear folks, IR tools rock and I do miss my drill. But it doesn't hurt to try new things. Aircat has a really great bunch of air tools and you can't go wrong by purchasing one of these fine tools. This drill is every bit as good as the IR and you will pay less for it giving you a chance to purchase another tool, that's a win win in my book.08/09/2013Want to revise the review slightly, been using the drill for a time now and I'm not sure if it's just my drill or if it's something that is related to the drills chuck, it's done this twice now and I am probably going to replace the chuck, I locks up so tightly that you have to take out a couple pairs of channel locks to get it lose. 2nd issue is the drill seems to have lost some of it's power, not really positive about this but it does seem to bog down doing things that it should not a any issues with. I am going to get with Aircat to see if there may be an issue. However, that said, still a great drill and it does what I ask of it.04/30/2014Well, the drill has lost a lot of it's power and it really has become a paperweight. Going to go back to the IR drill, can't understand the issues that have arisen with this drill. The chuck locks so tight that you have to use channel locks to loosen it, has no power anymore and bits just spin in the chuck. Biggest issue is that it's not even a year old and I can't use it for anything but for holding work orders. Sad, Air cat has some good tools, this isn't one of them. There is a earlier review that some made that says this happened to him right away, at least I got a few months out of it. This is more like a harbor freight tool at 10 times he money. IR here I come, should have known better, live and learn.

I tried this out because they said it was quite compared to other air drills, well....they were right, this thing is very quiet compared to others I have either used or heard in the past. This air drill as with all air drills I have used have no torque so you can't drill screws with this thing but holes in metal seem to be OK and some soft woods. The smaller the drill bit the better in wood. I have drilled several larger holes in metal and have just loved this drill; it's light and easy to use. Usually I am making pilot holes for screws in wood and with smaller drill bits it seems to work OK. The larger drill bits seem to bog it down in wood and it stops sometimes. Another reason I purchased this is because of the keyless chuck that seems to work pretty well. The chuck seems to grab onto the smaller drill bits like the 1/16'' pretty darn good. All in all I am really glad that I purchased this and will look into other air tools made by Air Cat for the future.
