I have been roasting my own coffee and I need a jar to put the coffee in after it is roasted. Freshly roasted coffee needs to off gas for several days so having a jar with a one way purge valve is handy. The jar is easily big enough to hold a pound or roasted coffee. The yellow lid is a bit off putting and I find the little dial on the top that records the month and day to be useless to me. The latch is made of plastic instead of metal which might be an issue down the line. For now I’m happy with it.

So far so good for this 50 oz jar that has a one way out for gas release and fermenting.I like the size and shape of this jar. It's a good weightThe top has adjustable settings so you can effortlessly track and remember when you began (date/month/day) which is great. The only reason I have deducted a star is that the bottom of the lid seems to be fixed to the jar (I can't unscrew it). Perhaps this is for sealing? But it's not a huge issue just odd (?)At this point I've just begun using it so I'm going to assume it'll work as intended. The top seems sturdy and well crafted with bpa free plastic and silicone.Good price for this size jar and "tracking" lidRecommended
