Just WOW!! I was extremely skeptical work let alone even be able to get it on my dog. She’s a 2 1/2 yr old GSD that we rescued at 8 months old and is just letting us touch the front of her chest near her belly and will not anyone touch her feet. I had to muzzle her and give her give her a little extra CBD to keep her calm when going to the vet or giving her a bath and a little extra CBD during thunderstorms and fireworks. She only objected slightly when I had to reach under her to grab the piece that wraps under her. She was a little extra anxious for an hour after I put it on but I think she was just processing everything and adjusting. She’d run nervously around the yard with her ESB ‘Emotional Support Ball’ and then play with one sister for a minute or so and then grab her ball and repeat with her other sister. Since we’ve been inside she’s been way chiller even snuggled up more for awhile like she was saying Thank you. She also wasn’t phased when I had pretzel earlier instead of trying to crawl in my lap to steal one. Will update when I see if it helps with her feet, strangers and the vet. (Also I ordered and XL and she’s between 75-80 lbs and I could have probably ordered a large as I won’t be able to tighten this one much more unless she gains some weight. I might order the large and use this one as back up when I need to wash the other one.)

I have an 90lb Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is literally a big baby scared of her own shadow and any sudden loud noises. She will have insane panic attacks where she hyperventilates, shakes, pants, paces, hides in closets or bath tubs and will last for hours even after the noise is done. We recently had a carbon monoxide detector battery alert send her into an episode. But of course the week before and after 4th of July is the worst. We try everything from prescription drugs, CBD oil etc. and nothing works. I decided to purchase this product which I will link below and attach pictures. Let me tell you I honestly thought I was going to waste my $35 bucks. But the reviews on there were amazing so I thought WTH. Anyhow this past week, she (my dog) was not phased at all by the fire works, I wanted to wait until after last night to post my real review of this product before I share it. HOLY COW, my neighborhood was shooting loud and crazy amounts of fireworks (more then in the past) 😡 and she sat at the top of the stairs in her comfort spot and laid there most of the night calm as can be. I did not give her CBD or meds either, tho they were on hand. Not once did she freak out. NO PANTING, NO SHAKING, NO HIDDING, She even went out side to pee with no problem. In the past she would hold it all night. This product was life changing.I can’t guarentee this will work for outside dogs. My dog is inside all the time except for walks, sunbathing or play time outside and potty trips.Calming vest for dogs. Worth EVERY PENNY!It’s a thin cotton material, strong Velcro straps. She actually gets upset when we take it off her. She loves it as much as I do. For reference this is an extra large vest and my girl is a BIG FAT GIRL and the XL was huge but is easy to adjust and tighten to her size. I want one in every color for her now!

Lovely soft cotton, so breathable rather than nasty acrylic material. Good fit. Dog doesn't mind it. Have bought another.

Realy helped my staffy/Akita she gets so upset with big noises, fireworks, banging car doors, thunder and lightning bless her didn't think it would help but I needed to try it, she has calm drops, we have the adaptol plugin, and with this she calms down instead of shaking it was so upsetting x

Ordered BLUE arrived in PINK. Size to tight despite dog guide, next one up would have been to big. Does NOT calm dog but it may be because he does not like the colour.

This really helps with my dog's anxiety. I've been using this for a year now to help my dog during thunderstorms and fireworks in the neighborhood. It helps to calm her down. When she sees me bring it out she sits right down in place so I can put it on her. It's 4th of July weekend now and where she first started to hear some fireworks go off, she lead me to the basket I keep the jacket as if she was telling me to put it on her. She then went to the bathroom and camped out for the rest of the evening. After all the fireworks on the neighborhood had died down, I went to check on her and she was fast asleep. Without the jacket, she would've been a nervous wreck. I am a believer in these jackets. My 2 issues with this jacket are: 1. It was complicated trying to figure out how to properly put on the jacket at first. I had to look up this product on YouTube for a demo video. I got the hang of it soon enough. 2. The sizing seems off. I bought a large and my dog is 40 lbs. The sizing chart says it fits up to 70 lbs. The jacket is just the right fit, but I cannot see this fitting anything over 50 lbs. The velcro placing couldn't use some improvement, but works enough for my dog. Other than these minor issues, I recommend this product.

My Pom-Chi loves it. A couple of years ago on the May 2-4 weekend and for the following month kids in the area were setting off firecrackers day and night, to the point that my loving, fearless and confident. Shazii would not go outside even during a distant thunderstorm. I have been at my wits end for so long. Then my sister read an article on these anxiety jackets for dogs. I was willing to try anything. Just 2 days after we received the wraps we have a major thunder boomer and Shazii was freaking out and shaking so badly we thought she was going to have a heart attack. I ran and grabbed the wrap and put it on her night and sung/tight and pretty much instantly Shazii she calmed down, still slightly irritated but she was so much better that I can't even describe the difference properly. Now Shazii Comes to us to let us know when she needs it and her quality of life has improved 10 fold. I would most definitely recommend this product to anyone with an anxious dog, it has even helped with limiting her bark at dogs walking by the house, Just incredible.Shazii is 15lbsm very thick' fur and I ordered withing the guidelines recommended but I think she could have done with one a tiny bit bigger but the next size would have been too large. Remember these are meant to be worn quite snug, not loose at all.

WHY WE BOUGHT ITWe have a 50lb dog that came from a shelter and he gets very anxious around strangers and loud noises(thunder, fireworks, etc). We had been using a ThunderShirt for about a year but decided to try this AKC vest because it was less expensive and we wanted to see if it might be more effective.EFFECTIVENESS + FITCompared to the ThunderShirt, I would say the AKC vest is just as effective. It is clear that these vests help our dog, reducing his anxiety by 25-30%, but by no means is it a miracle solution. We originally ordered a size Medium for our dog but had to exchange it for a Large. Even through our dog is only 50lbs, he has a barrel chest and the Medium was way too small. However, the AKC vest material does stretch out over time. I recently had to add another strip of velcro to the Large sized vest because it was the only way to keep the vest snug. If AKC added a strip of velcro or two, that would be extremely helpful in keeping a more consistent fit for my dog.I'd also add that putting this vest on is definitely not as intuitive as the ThunderShirt. It's not a problem now that I know how to do it, but it took me a little while to figure it out at first and our vet is still baffled whenever she tries.OVERALL VALUEAll in all, I think the benefits are worth the $30 price, but I'll be willing to pay an extra few dollars to buy a ThunderShirt after this one wears out.
