Superial "D.C." ReedsTonal Concept of the Past "DC" has a slightly harder tip and more wood in the heart and sides than Superial and this produces characteristics of a darker, more powerful, more solid tone core, but an enhanced feeling of aliveness, a singing but deep resonance. Made from the finest of wild grown Var cane, each and every reed table is checked under light for flatness and hand adjusted if necessary

They whistled a bit when I first started to use them. I’m a newbie so I discovered they were not wet enough. I used them awhile and I haven’t had any issues. Plastic reeds were becoming my favorite until a friend recommended these. Now I have them on tenor, alto and soprano...

I'm a J Alexander fanboy all the way. I've been playing these reeds since my semi-pro amateur music career started over 25 yrs ago. You can play these straight out of the box with little to no break-in. Rarely do I find one that needs work. I've recently returned to the scene and upgraded some of my equipment and I'm glad to report J Alexander reeds are still the most playable reed I've ever used out of the box. I think they are a little softer than the Vandoren counterpart, but maybe that is why I like them. I used to pay a 3, but these days I prefer the 2 or 2.5 on the Soprano and 3 on the Tenor. Get some!

Great reeds. Prompt shipping; great seller. I particularly like these reeds on the curved soprano sax. Good quality, super on the high notes, even at strength 2.

Over the years, I have used Rico and Vandoren reeds on my tenor. I bought a soprano about a year ago and continued to use these brands. On the recommendation of someone on the "Sax on the Web" forum, I bought some Alexander Superial reeds. They are now my preferred reeds for my soprano.
