I have been buying these fire starters for 3 years and for 2022 & 2023 they were great. Packed tightly in the box none were broken and the plastic bag each one was in was tight. The starter fit the bag. Now same size bag but the starter is at least 15% or more smaller, just loose inside the bag and there just thrown in the box. Mostly because there smaller and most of them are busted up from getting shaken around from shipping or whatever. I use to really like these guys, now there a mess and crumbling.

I use 2 of the cubes side by side and lay a few pieces of fatwood over them. Fires starts immediately and hot enough to start getting bigger pieces added in fast. Helps keep from early smoldering and creosote and I don't feel like screwing around in the morning when getting a fire started.

This fire starting product is fantastic. We burn fires every day for the entire Fall and Winter seasons. Even though we have "seasoned" wood, we still nseed something to start the blaze. We use these with fat lighter (often called "fat wood"). These little gems fire up the fat lighter almost immediately. The fat lighter then starts the wood burning. These alone will not start a fire. But, in conjunction with some other longer lasting and more intense product (like fat lighter), they are fabulous.

I used to be able to light the wrapper and it stayed lit and lit the firestarter up right away to do its job. The new wrapper doesn't light as easy.

these things work better than any starter i have ever used.most starters take about i minute ti get started,but yhese are going as soon as the match hits the wrapper.i love these and so does my wife.i am glad we stumbled on to these
