Son is a back-up catcher, but we had to get the new protector to meet the current standards. This fit the bill, and wasn't terribly overpriced (I mean, they all are, but comparatively it's better than others). Was comfortable, though we didn't use the shoulder guard (it's detachable).It's not high end, but certainly works and seems like it will last.5'9.5" and got the 12-16 15.5" and it fits well.
