My daughter was pitching on a cement floor during the winter months and on rainy days. She would slide all over the place trying to pitch. I wish I would have bought this years ago.

My fast-pitch pitcher LOVES THIS MAT, and says that it feels so much better on her knees. She says it is better than even the expensive turf on an indoor school practice area. I observed her using one before that was made of a rubber conveyor belt, outdoors on a foggy day. A rubber-only mat she can slip on. She doesn't slip on this mat. I also observe that her pitching speed improved since she got it. I would buy the mat again in a heartbeat, and will recommend that the team buy one or two of the mats.However, the company sells this as a stand-alone, and sells one that includes a carry bag. I bought the version of this that comes with the bag. The bag broke a rivet the third time we took it to practice. It pains me to deduct a star from this thing because of the bag. SUMMARY: The mat gets six stars, the bag gets two.Suggestion if you get the version with the bag: When you roll it up to insert it into the bag, you want the carpet side out, not the rubber side. Otherwise, it doesn't go in or out easily.
