My use tends to be in the classroom or office where I just need shorter, not necessarily smaller in all ways and it works for that. I would probably be happier with something the same size as a reguler engineer scale just truncated to 6" because that would make the numbers a little easier to read. But it is easy to slip this scale into a pen-sized slot or pocket and that's what it is really meant for so I am not going to remove stars for that. Can't blame the product for being the way it's supposed to be!(I should probably just cut down a full sized scale but that seems wasteful, somehow.)

I use this scale almost everyday, and it easily fits in my little tablet “briefcase”.Of course the numbers and lines are small, it’s a mini scale ruler!I would buy again.

Would prefer etched markings; this one is printed. The corners are also sharp and pointed. Until another design is offered in a 6” size, this one will have to do.

I use this daily for Civil Inspection. Accurate and comes in a nice protective tube that fits in a pen holder. I would recommend this to people.
