These are the perfect replacement for the plastic OEM ones. The plastic ones bend and break, especially in the summer heat. They break in a year for me. These metal ones are strong and never fluctuate from summer heat to freezing winters. Yes, I will be out there when it's 100° and when it's only 17°. Very happy with this purchase.

These replace the original strap attachments made of some softer plastic by Lifetime (10’ Tamarack Fishing). The strap clips kept falling off the attachments in mid-paddle. And there you are in the middle of the lake with a collapsed seat back and cannot fix it. So these replacements are METAL and hold the straps directly and firmly as you set them, and NEVER give up. JUST FABULOUS! Lifetime should put these on their kayaks as original equipment! Highly recommended!

These were an answer to my prayers!!! They arrived sooner than expected which was also an answer to prayers. My Lifetime Tahoma Kayak came with the plastic two piece seat strap holders. Ok, but I like my seat back more upright. The piece attached to the strap was alway popping off the piece that was attached to the kayak. I had also read that they break quickly. I’m 5’2” and weigh 138Lbs the kayak’s max wt limit is 275Lbs so I wasn’t exceeding the limit on the straps etc. But even just trying to steer in very light rapids and it would often cause them to just pop off. That’s not just frustrating but it also can be dangerous. These fit like a glove on the kayak. They are NOT hot even in the blazing July sun here in the south. They were easy to lace the strap through and once I had them adjusted as I like, they have not slipped or popped off unexpectedly. When transporting my kayak on top of the car I do keep them connected to my seat strap but I take the entire seat off my kayak. That way the entire unit is safe and they easily slide right back on the bolts on the sides of the kayak!

These fit nice and snug onto the boat catches, as they are supposed to. Install was easy...just pay attention to how the original plastic one is attached.I did have just a little sliding of my strap in this new buckle...on a 5 hour float. The slippage was very small, I did need to readjust, just hope it doesn't keep getting worse. Maybe I should throw a few extra stitches in my straps if the problem persists
