I got one too replace a broken motor on a feeder would have worked better if I would have left the old broken one on

Works great even spread. Some problems with battery had to place something behind the battery to make good contact

I used a little foam rubber the secure the battery against the contacts. I wish the housing was easier to screw on.

How am I supposed to use this unit without elec hook up cable. No mention of needing to order it. And there are no instructions as to the size of hole if not mounting to YOUR barrel. Initial thought was, it looks good but went down hill from there.

I have been using AH feeders for almost two decades. When they changed to this style I was not happy. However, in the past year, I have become a fan of these. The biggest issue with this style is that there is nothing to hold the battery in place. I overcame this issue by cutting apiece of ½" clear rubber tubing about ¾" long. If you squeeze it and jam it in behind the battery on the lower side, it works well and makes it easy to remove and install a battery. The programming is not as easy as the old style but once you get used to it, it's no biggie. The two things that I like more about this new style is that the industrial motor is more powerful than the old ones. The second thing is that the new style will run on a battery much longer than the old style. If you do get one of these, give it a chance.
