All of the components are present. This is a handy little kit. Certainly not all-inclusive, but a great way to get started with the basics! The tube isn't terribly sturdy, so if you are keeping it in a backpack or something where it will be jostled frequently, I would probably reinforce it or transfer to a sturdy container. The 1st aid guide is excellent!

The size of this makes it a perfect essential for your emergency kits whether it be at home or on the go. Pouches are very compact. You can take it out of the plastic sleeve and make it more compact by putting all the contents in another bag. We haven’t opened it yet but it’s an added item to our go kits. We are definitely going to purchase multiple for our family so we each can have one or two per person and the value of it makes it so worth it.

We got this as part of a small “go kit”. I don’t expect to need it (I hope I won’t), but I wanted something just in case. It’s well packaged and relatively small. One small complaint is that I wish it were a square or rectangle so it would pack better with other things in my kit. It only has a limited number of things, so consider carefully what you need and what you don’t.In my case, I really wanted something that I could keep in the car. Unfortunately, we live in a climate where the winters can get very cold. As a result, I would have liked to have perhaps seen water purification tablets instead of packed water. I didn’t test it, but I worry about the pack of purified water freezing in cold weather. I also would have liked to have seen some Band-Aids or disinfectant.Overall, this is pretty basic. It doesn’t come with a hefty price tag, so it might be a good value for some. As a standalone kit, however, I would think one may want something a bit more robust. I will be keeping it with my other stuff, but I don’t think I would buy another one. I will probably spend a bit more money and get something that checks more boxes.

This review is for the “American Red Cross Officially Licensed Product, Safety Tube, First Aid Essentials, Portable Compact Kit” that is $15 at the time of writing.I was hoping this kit would be a reliable addition to my emergency preparedness kit. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations, especially considering the $15 price tag.The tube is very limited and basic, containing a single blue face mask, a 4 fl oz packet of (allegedly) purified drinking water, an extremely thin emergency blanket, a single light stick, and a poor-quality whistle with an ultra-thin neck lanyard. Here’s a breakdown of each item:Face Mask: This is just a typical blue surgical mask, like the ones we used during the pandemic. Chances are, most people already have some of these leftover at home. It doesn't feel like a unique or high-quality addition to an emergency kit.Purified Drinking Water: The 4 fl oz packet is a decent touch, but it's quite minimal. In an emergency, you'd likely need more water than this provides. It feels like the bare minimum, at best.Emergency Blanket: The blanket is incredibly thin and feels like it could tear easily. It’s supposed to be modeled off mylar space blankets but I’m not sure I trust it. It might work in a pinch, but I wouldn't rely on it for any serious, long-term emergency.Light Stick: While functional, it's just a single glow stick with a limited lifespan. No real added value here, given glow sticks are available at dollar stores in bulk.Whistle: The whistle is of poor quality and doesn't produce a very loud or clear sound, which is crucial in emergencies. The neck lanyard is also extremely thin and seems prone to breaking easily. While I appreciated receiving the English version (unlike other reviewers who received a Spanish version), I was disappointed with the overall quality and content of the tube. For $15, I expected more robust and reliable emergency items. This kit feels like it was thrown together with the most basic components, offering very little value for the price.

This is good for you your backpack when you go camping, or when you go on any trip. It’s a first aid, so that you can take care of any injuries that happen while you’re out.

This kit arrived quickly and is a great idea. It comes with a glow stick, face mask, 4.227 ounce pouch of water, a whistle, and an emergency Mylar blanket. It's a great idea for a go bag or backpack, and the items are of good quality. We were really surprised that a roll of Smarties, an emergency food bar (some last up to 5 years unopened), Lifesavers or some other carbohydrate source was not included, especially given the small size of such an item. The water pouch is a nice touch, but at only about 1/2 cup of liquid it leaves a bit to be desired. A Band Aid or two plus a sanitizing wipe could also be beneficial and would take up minimal space. If this item were in an inexpensive pouch, rather than the more rigid bulky tube, the food item, bandage and sanitizing wipe could be added, and the water pouch could be increased to an 8 ounce serving. These would all provide a very well-rounded emergency quick start kit.Still a nice emergency essential to have on hand, but it is more in line with a price point under $10 without all the essentials.

Every household should have something like this at a minimum in case of any type of emergency! This is perfect, as it comes with pouched water, whistle, mask, emergency blanket and light stick. I do recommend adding a small flashlight to this kit, as the light stick seems to be a snap and glow stick, so I'm not sure how much light it will give off or for how long. It all comes in a small, sturdy, plastic tube that can be placed in a car, your house, or your office. Moms could even carrying this in a diaper bag.I also added 2 protein bars as a food source in case I got trapped for a few hours, I wouldn't have to be worried about being hungry.
