Sturdy, great, easily-adjustable fittings. We use it for our over-wintering plants in the living room. As a tip: if the short arms are a little too short Danco 94031 pvc plumbing extension tube is a perfect tolerance fit for an extra 12 inches.

The stands are strong and have a wide, stable 41" footprint. I think they will work well, but I have a couple gripes:1. As delivered, the height only adjusts from about 8.5' to 12'. It will not fit under a normal 8' ceiling. All they had to do was drill spaced holes in the top (4') section, as they do in the middle (4') section, and you could use the top section alone, to get any height from about 5' to 8'+. You could drill the holes yourself (maybe I will) or trust the clamp to hold the weight without the security pin. (I wouldn't.)2. The (plastic with metal hardware) tubing clamps have these weird plastic strips connecting the top and bottom sections, which actually get crushed as you tighten the thumb screws for the first time. It isn't clear that these pieces are helpful or necessary; they seem to only get in the way. I may clip one off, and see if it makes any difference. I get nervous bearing down on the thumb screws (it's only plastic), but the tubes will slip if you don't.All in all, it's nice to have the 12' height; I just wish the top bar was a little wider, and the clamps were designed in a normal way.

I took a star off because it was missing a nut for one of the supports. The nut is a unique size so I can't use that part until I track down one that will fit. The machine bolts that are used to attach your lights are only two inches long. That's not a lot. I will replace those with three inch bolts for a bit of security. The base has a sizable footprint but I will be using sandbags to counterbalance the weight of my light. It is a nice tripod for the money but be prepared to tweak it to your individual needs. If you are going to be moving this regularly be careful with the nuts for the braces as they come out.

I use these with my band every week and I loooove them! They’re so sturdy, easy to pack up, and stretch as tall or as short as we need them to be! Would not ever buy a different kind!!

I used this for 8 dmx lights. My girlfriend and I put on a musical that lasted a weekend, but we were using and practicing with the lights for the entire month before hand and this thing was definitely worth it. Gonna keep using it in the future.My tip: get a case! and little bags to keep the wingnuts and bolts in. It will save a lot of hassle.

Very impressed with how sturdy or solid they are. Of course, they way more than most cuz there good and solid. I already have a two new speaker stands and one new T-stand but I needed another for dance floor monograms. So the one I'm reviewing now is the odd solo one. So basically here ya have it. It's much heavier and sturdier than any of the other ones I own. There kind of like the craftsmen of speaker stands. So sturdy and heavy. That it may be overkill. Also. No bag for me to carry it in.

This stand is awesome. Very stable and can be customized a little bit. This thing can get very tall. Box came a little ruffed up from shipping, but the tripod was not damaged at all. There were no instructions, but I do feel none are needed. I was able to put it together and set up for my needs in less than 10 minutes. Definitely worth the money. You also do not need any clamps for this. There are 4 holes with bolts, wing nuts and washers on each section of the poles so you potentially can have 16 item hanging from this.
