I purchased this item for my bathtub as it started dripping and I didn’t want to replace the whole faucet and these seals were easy to replace and the drip is gone!

After taking my faucet apart a few times, replace it the cold water stem it continued to leak. I took it part again and noticed the smallest little chip in the seat. I didn’t care to replace my entire faucet as I don’t have an access wall. This way the ultimate fix, no more leaks!!

This was one of the easiest parts swaps I can recall. Other than needing a 7/32" Allen key wrench and some impact force to remove the 20 year old seats, this was a breeze. The seats were the only metal parts of this valve assembly that showed any wear, and between Chicago's hard water, rust and sediment from a series of water heaters that died, those seats took a lot of grinding punishment.

My shower is finally drip free! Replacing the rubber washers stopped fixing the slow drip from my 80's vintage American Standard Cadet bath/shower faucet. There was some pitting on the surface of the seat and I had already resurfaced it a few times over the years. Truth is I didn't even realize I could replace the seating surface until I did a little research. The seats that were in my faucet were brass, so they may have been replaced before - these are genuine American Standard parts. Maybe the chrome will be more resistant to pitting than the brass.
