Very disappointed had high hopes unfortunately after adding the oil and pushed the switch to on position the switch came right off so never turned on, so ended up returning it.Update 1/29/2025 seller shipped out a new one immediately within a week unit works great switch is very solid very impressed how well the smoke comes out I would definitely purchase again from this manufacturer very satisfied customer service.

So my husband recently used this Automotive Smoke Machine to track down an exhaust leak in our vehicle, and he was really impressed with how easy it was to use. It’s super compact, portable, and didn’t require a bunch of extra tools – just hook it up, add some baby oil (which works great), and it produces smoke that helps pinpoint the leak in no time. He had no trouble figuring out exactly where the issue was, and the whole thing only took a few minutes. For someone like him, who’s not a professional mechanic but does a lot of car work on his own, this tool is perfect. It definitely saved us from having to pay for a shop visit. Overall, it's a solid tool that gets the job done without any fuss.

I was tired of going back and forth, tightening the hose clamps in my car’s intake system, trying to stabilize the idle. The spray method worked two months ago when I successfully diagnosed a leak in a connection. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the same problem to reoccur. The spray method no longer revealed the leak. I almost gave up and accepted that it was time to take out a loan for another car.A friend told me he had experienced the same issue with his car a while back. He took it to a shop, where they performed a smoke test, which solved the problem. He couldn’t recall the exact amount he paid, but the estimated figure he gave me made me realized I am a DIYer, Lol. Hence, I need a smoke machine!Browsing Amazon, I found the ANCEL S100 Pro smoke machine. The product reviews were great. So, I ordered one. It arrived quick and all were in good conditions. The assembly is straightforward. The manual is well-written, and I followed the recommendation to use baby oil for the smoke. The included funnel was very useful for preventing spills while pouring oil into the machine. Since it's lightweight, it can be placed anywhere near the testing area. The built-in air compressor makes everything even more convenient.I do wish an intake bladder was included in the package, but I made it work by wrapping a used cloth around the delivery hose. I removed the hose by the air filter and infused smoke there. After a few minutes, smoke appeared beneath a hose. I had forgotten that leaks don’t always occur at the connections. Wear and tear, or hardened rubber hoses exposed to heat, can develop leaks too.Thanks to this smoke machine, I learned a valuable lesson and saved money! As a satisfied DIYer, I highly recommend this product and give it a full five-star rating.

Puts out a lot of smoke. I used Johnsons baby oil and it worked really well. Used it to smoke test my 2002 Dodge Caravan evap system for leaks. Very happy with the results of this small device. Has everything i needed. Hooks right up to the car battery with included cables. Only wish it came with a carry case but I bought a cheap Temu case with foam cushioning to keep it safe. I'm also going to buy an inflatable bladder to smoke test the exhaust and throttle body intakes.

Why do none of these ever come with any liquid for use? I ended up purchasing some mineral oil as I have read this is basically what all of these units use to produce smoke. The unit comes with the necessary parts for use and seems decently made. The power cable are a bit thin but it should be a thick enough gauge to power the unit safely but I would make sure those cables do not get too hot if you use it for any prolonged period of time.Everything came packed well, even if it was all a bit cramped in the box. One of my biggest gripes when I first got one of these was the lack of liquid. These companies that sell these rebranded cheap automotive smoke machines need to include a small bottle of liquid for use.It works, it gets the job done for the couple of times I was trying to track down a leak but it is nothing special. Most of these similar looking units are identical and probably made in the same factory just rebranded and sold by many different brand names.

Not to be contentious but, I have not found many mechanical shops to be very honest, especially with people they know to not be mechanically inclined.Going into a shop saying, “somethings wrong with my car” could be costly ignorance.Now, I’m not mechanically inclined myself, but I knew I had a exhaust leak somewhere and I didn’t want to be told I needed a full system if I didn’tEnter the ol’ smoke machine - quick, easy and obvious where the leak was.There is an online manual and like other mentioned it does not come with fluid. I just asked my car-guy friend and he said regular cheap baby oil works just fine - which it did.I haven’t diagnosed any other leaks but I’m sure the process is the same and the evidence will be the same. Like I said, it can pay for itself in just one use instead of getting the 'run-around’ at the shop be charged well over a 100 bucks an hour.
