This is NOT on the seller... Clearly, ANCOR's quality control has gone out the window here. I ordered 50' of ANCOR 6/2. Upon cutting my first length, it appeared that the two cables within the insulation were different sizes. Upon removing said insulation, they are indeed different AWG. Positive is 8AWG and Ground is 6AWG. I'm honestly a little speechless. Yikes, ANCOR....

Marine wiring is typically difficult to run due to cramped and tortuous wiring spaces, and subject to difficult working conditions - humidity, salt, and varying degrees of movement & vibration, all of which can lead to failures. Quality wire is well worth the cost; individually tinned strands is essential (IMHO). Ancor wire fits the bill. If you've ever spent hours troubleshooting an electrical fault on an older boat, only to find that the conductor has failed somewhere in what otherwise appears to be an intact insulated cable, you know what I mean.Do it once, do it right...

Great quality wire, used in a rewire to make sure the boat was up to the latest ABYC Standards. Ancor tinned wire is always the best and I can't endorse it enough. Switching to the yellow ground wire helps to avoid confusion with AC Hot. Highly recommend the use of these wires, as they are easier to route than the primary wires.
