Pins are sharp with out little balls on tips. I would only use this on a large, very thick-coated dog.

I like the way the pins on the brush get deep into the coat and gently sweep out the loose fibre. The dogs love it. The pins are firmly attached to the pad and haven’t been pulled out by the tangled fur.

I have two goldendoodles - one with the woolly sheep hair and one with the silky, loose curls. The sily-haired doodle gets unbelievable knots very close to her skin because of her very fine hair. I find that this brush, used regularly, gets through all the little knots before they have a chance to become big knots and she enjoys when I brush her using this much more than the pin brush or the fine-tooth metal comb my groomer recommends. The key is somewhat regular use - 2-3 times a week for a quick all-over brushing and a little extra time on known trouble spots. Great brush!

This is a nice brush. It takes off a ton of hair and I use it with the companion Andis rake brush to get mats and the undercoat. It’s very comfortable in your hand.

My family owns a Shih Tzu, her name is Morita. We love her, she changed our lives. We got it since she was a young baby and as she grew up we liked her hair but eventually we noticed we needed to take good care of her hair. We went with a couple other products before and they were so-so. This one is really good: simple and relative low in cost. Morita likes it and she looks great after the brush session.

A perfect comb for my puppy. It maybe a lil expensive but it’s Very sturdy, and durable and you wouldn’t have to keep repurchasing new combs.

Smashing for our 2 Newfoundland's and does not dig in to skin, start light and work in to the coat as it gives way, then run over with a metal comb. As its so easy you can just give them more quick brushes until you have time for a longer groom, but you won't have the knots to deal with.Keeps them looking good ..... little and often is better for you, and Fido does not get fed up too soon.No bristles missing after use and plenty of give.

We have two soft coated Wheaten Terriers who have long 'hair' (not to be confused with fur) and a thick undercoat that is like cotton batting or polyfill. I have experimented with a few brushes, and more expensive brushes. They all fall apart, their pins come out or get depressed, or the base holding the pins comes out of the main body of the brush. The Andis brush is high quality and durable. Super for getting through my dog's fur and making it beautiful without a ton of work. I highly recommend this brush if you need something that is deep and good for thick fur. I also highly recommend a 'v' rake for pulling matts.
