These dyes are guaranteed to penetrate the leather, and form a lasting color which will not peel or crack or wash off. They are excellent for re-coloring shoes, saddles, belts, purses, and much more. We strongly recommend preparing the leather with Preparer Deglazer. (The Preparer-Deglazer should never be used on vinyl.) Leather Dye can be thinned with the color Neutral. This dye has stronger pigment than all leather dyes on the market. It will not take much to dye your leather.

This was such an easy solve for dying some leather boots that I dislike the color of. The price is very affordable. I will say that it certainly took more than 2 coats to achieve full coverage. Plan on worst case scenario using 3/4 of a bottle for one pair of shoes. Color and drying time were exactly as described.

I make a lot of guitars and only use Angelus dyes. The picture is just with sanding sealer. It is extremely easy to work with and gives outstanding results.

Definitely a learning curve, however the Oxblood came out better than expect. I though it was going to be darker but it still looks great!

Was gifted a pair of blue suede boots. Not my choice of color and this product was perfect and the boots look rich deep brown. They are beautiful and receive multiple compliments. I couldn't be happier!

I purchased this to re-stain a saddle on a rocking horse. It was a beautiful color and very easy to apply. I would definitely Google how to apply the stain because you have to be pretty fast. I would definitely buy this again

Oxblood makes the leather a deep, dark red color that I was looking for on my project. However, it stains everything and anything, so make sure to wear gloves. After 24 hours, it had crazy amounts of red color rub off onto my skin, despite being completely dry. I hope leather conditioner helps calm this beast.

To answer my own question, and for anyone else who may be wondering, yes, you can use this to tint solvent based lacquer. I tinted nitrocellulose lacquer with this because I got tired of spending $30 on a 2 oz. Bottle of the other stuff available for guitars. Some things to note: test it first. The tint appears very different in lacquer. When first mixed, it looked magenta/orange, but it dries closer to the intended color. Use pipettes to transfer dye a few drops at a time until you get the color you're after. Also, use thinner. It helps keep the color true. I ended up using a 50/50 thinner/lacquer mix with less than 1 oz. Of tint. This yielded approx 1 liter of tinted lacquer. Layer for added color depth. 3 to 4 coats turned out almost identical to the traditional colortone cherry I was going for. I'm very happy with the results, and I ordered a bunch more colors from Angelus' website. What would have cost me over $200 from luthier suppliers I got for less than $50. Go to angelus direct website and see for yourself! One more thing..... you'll want to wear nitrile gloves, use pipettes to transfer the dye, and cap the bottle immediately to avoid spills. Spills are more of a mess than you want to deal with. Ask me how I know.

I got Angelus Leather Dye in Oxblood to dye my beat up cherry red Doc Martens. This is a very rich and pigmented dye and the boots came out super lustrous and dark.Application was very streaky at first, but the trick is to swirl it on (I used the wand at first, then a cloth). The oxblood color is gorgeous, but comes out very dark especially if you're dying a leather that is pretty heavily pigmented to begin with.
