I bought this for two reasons.Magnetic: it’s not magnetic enough to hold itself… so it’s not magnetic.Inclinometer: it’s sticky and doesn’t show accurate incline degrees unless you tap it a few times and hope you don’t mess up the measurement your trying to take. This is worthless to me.

This angle finder is pretty accurate and worth a spot in the tool box. I use it on metal and the reading I get from it is very close to what I get from more expensive angle finders. The numbers are decently sized and comes with a level on the back. There is a hook hole and a magnet buy the magnet is weak. This problem has caused it to drop to the concrete several times. Good news is that it survived the falls.

If you are a home repair Do-It-Yourselfer, then you know how important measurements are. Most of us are familiar with measuring devices such as rulers or tape measures, which fit the bill for most situations. However, everything we work with is not a square, and every cut we make with a saw is not going to be 90 degrees. In certain instances, you are going to encounter angles. Whether you’re talking about working with a bay window, the pitch of a roof, crown molding, or a concrete ramp, angles are all around us.For many applications, a simple speed square will do. But if you want something to be highly accurate, this angle finder fits the bill perfectly.A few things I really like about this tool is that the manufacturer seemed to put a lot of thought into its making. Not only does it find the angle, but it has notches with which it can be hung, it has 2 levels (horizontal and vertical), and it has a table of comparisons on the back side. It also has two small magnets on the level side, but they are certainly strong enough to hold the angle finder in place. If you’ll notice by the picture, you do have to look very carefully at the reading to get an exact angle. In finding 90 degrees, the bubble level is easier to get a visual read than discerning between the fine lines. In the picture, the bubble level shows that the surface is not entirely level, and if you look very closely at the angle finder, you’ll see that is it not entirely level either; however, it is harder to determine on the angle finder, but at the same time, you will not get an exact degree to which it is not level with a bubble level.Overall, it seems to be a well-made product that fits the bill for finding exact measurements of angles. The price is just an added bonus.

This angle finder works great and is very accurate within about a degree in my testing and it works at some pretty extreme and odd angles as well. Very easy to use but the plastic is a little thin so it might break if it gets stepped on or takes a hard drop from a high distance. The magnets are a little bit weak as well and it doesn't really like to hold itself up anything over a 45° angle no matter how thick the metal is. I was surprised that it has the built-in level but I wouldn't use it to level much but rather only use it to base your angles off of. It works great and I am very impressed at how well it functions but just keep in mind that it's not the most durable tool out there. I still give it 5 stars

Item description: Analog InclinometerBrand: FACITEItem: B0BR74P1M9Date received: 2023-04-18Headline: Fairly easy to use, but accuracy is less than claimed.Product Claims1 Analog gravity-based inclinometerI received exactly what was claimed in the product description. The dial is housed in a case of molded plastic with a clear dial, and which includes two legs set at 90 degrees to each other and intended to define datum surfaces. On one datum leg are a pair of magnets (the product description shows 3 magnets, mine only had 2) for mounting to steel (such as commercial studs, or beams); on the same leg is also included a pair of small bubble levels in the perpendicular directions. There are no instructions with this product (the most basic operation is self-evident, but the purpose of some of the additional features has to be sorted out by the operator). The dial is about 2.75 inches in diameter.Issues:1) I presume the bubble levels on the back of a datum plane are to set the inclinometer in a level direction, to improve repeatability. But if you are attempting to use the magnets to hold it on a steel surface, the bubble levels will be covered up.2) The two magnets provided with the item provided for my review are not sufficient to keep the gauge from sliding down a vertical steel surface.3) There is no damping in the mechanism, which contributes to poor repeatability. The dial is not damped by any obvious means, so when you rotate the device to a new angle the dial rocks back and forth like a pendulum, and it can take 10-15 seconds for the dial to come to rest. When it does come to rest, the friction within the mechanism prevents the result from being repeatable to better than a degree.4) Overly optimistic accuracy. The product description declare this item is accurate to 0.5 degrees, but in my view the operation doesn't bear that out. The repeatability issue of the previous item is at the top of my accuracy issues, but another issue is that the line you are reading from is separated from the dial by a distance, creating a parallax issue; for this to not have a repeatable effect, your head would have to be located at exactly the same place (distance and angles) for every reading, to control the parallax. In short, if you don't have an inclinometer and need to know an angle to within a degree or so, this will do the job. But there other products are available at a similar price that appear to provide more accurate results, if you have the time to order a different one.

I needed one of these for a project I'm doing and didn't want to spend a fortune. This looked like it would do the job and it will. It's easy to read with level bubbles should you need those as well. Being magnetic on the one side will also com in handy. It's made of plastic so I don't know that I'd use it in a commercial setting, but for me it's plenty good enough. If you need one, this is one to consider. I already have found things to use it for I didn't realize it would help with.
