I love the idea of this model, but its execution could use some work. I had opted for this one as opposed to a similar one due to the lower cost. The pieces appear to have magnets on them, but they are ineffective. I have to be careful picking it up to show patients or the crowns and bridge fall off which I fear gives me the appearance of being clumsy…which is not a quality a nervous patients wants to see in a dental care provider. The pieces are decent quality, they just don’t stay together at all.

This dental implant vs bridge model clearly shows the benefits of a dental implant over grinding down two adjacent teeth to fill in an extra action gap. The crowns and bridgework have small magnets inside for stability in presentation.

This allows us to easily discuss restorative options of an implant vs. a bridge and to explain the different parts of an implant (implant, abutment, and crown). The teeth and implant are not glued into the model and can be removed, which can make it hard to move. But overall, a good model.

I love this model so much!! I use it all the time with patients to discuss tooth replacement options. I love that the implant includes an abutment and a separate crown. I love that you can show the view from the gingiva or a cross section of the bone. It’s sturdy. It’s heavy. It’s so clear. And it’s reasonably priced.
