This solar pump was ordered for our three tiered fountain in the yard. We have previously used a plug in AC pump on a timer, but thought it would be nice to try this solar pump as a replacement. Looking to save electricity and not run anything unnecessarily, so having a little pump that is powered by the included solar panel is a great solution.The internal rechargeable battery does allow it operate the pump for maybe an hour or two after the sun is no longer shining on the solar panel. The pump goes off relatively soon after there is no longer sun...it would be nice if it did go for a bit longer. In comparison to the other solar pump we have in a different fountain that does not have a battery it runs for a bit if it has been charged up well by the sun during the day.We also have another custom fountain built with an old water pump and has not been in use for a few years. It’s sitting a little further from the house that does not have an AC outlet nearby; I’m going to get another one of these solar pumps for that one as it’s exactly what is required to get this other fountain going again.A bonus for getting both fountains going again is that the native birds love it. When the three tiered fountain is going, we see birds come to drink and bathe.This solar water pump is a great solution for many yard fountain installations.

Always a nice garden feature, if they work well, is a water fountain.This small fountain is intended to be for a bird bath or small backyard pond but works very nicely in our larger water area.Putting the parts together and setting it up weren't straight forward, likely because I've not made one before. The clear plastic tubing wasn't actually needed in my use case, it's intended to link the pump on the water container floor and the fountain floating above. The large circular foam piece at the base enables the fountain to float easily on the water surface. The tube itself is 4ft (approx 1m) long allowing for various water heights.I set this up in the late afternoon and it carried on running from the onboard battery for an hour after sunset,It does produce a very pleasing effect, with a nice running water sound. Before the pump starts, you get a few seconds to clear hands or clothing away from the pump before it starts up. That is a cool feature, needing water to cover a sensor before the pump will start,3 foam filter pieces are included, one of which is already installed in the pump and they are simple to replace and clean.The various nozzles enable a variety of water effects, which connect together with simple push fittings.A very nice, well built design, with effective solar running.

This is a neat little fountain. While I haven’t been able to install it in my pond yet (still too cold here), I have tested it out & all seems to be working fine.It’s much smaller than I thought it’d be, but should work fine in our small pond. The solar panel works well to make the pump work & it’s a bit more powerful than a unit that I had gotten before that didn’t have a backup battery.I like all of the different heads to make different fountain patterns. Can’t wait for the weather to finally break here to have this thing running all of the time.If we run into any snags after it’s been outside, I’ll be sure to update this review. But for now, all seems to be working out fine.Since it’s not mentioned in the product details, I can confirm that this is made in China.

We are working on creating a sanctuary space in the backyard and this is our second solar pump—more pumps, more birds? Setup was simple, and it started working as soon as we got it in the sun. The water flow is decent, and the variety of nozzles has let us play with the mood we want to create.One of the reasons we picked this one is the built-in battery. It definitely helps when there’s light shade or passing clouds, but it’s not going to run for hours after the sun goes down. A couple hours of runtime off the battery seems about right, and then it stops until it can charge again. Still, it's a nice feature that gives it more consistency during the day compared to solar-only pumps.The dry-run protection is a good safeguard—it shuts off when the water runs low so you’re not burning out the motor if the level drops. That’s especially useful during Texas summers when the sun can be unrelenting. It will be lovely this summer—I’m staring to think about koi ponds!

Just got this today, but it started running immediately when I took it outside-- no charging necessary. Seems great so far. I wish the cord was a bit longer to give me more placement options but satisfied overall.
