The original mirror fell off in a car wash leaving only the housing. I was able to snap the rest of the old mirror off the housing, connect a couple of wires for the heater, then snap the new mirror into place. Took less than 5 minutes and no tools.

Old broken mirror popped right out.You do have to remove the metal tab from the old mirror and insert it into this replacement mirror before installation.Snapped right in to the mount without trouble. Looks great.

This was a good thing cause it was so easy to install so that way I had this mirror fixed so I longer had chips in my mirror

This was purchased for a 2014 Ford Escape. I took the factory original mirror out and compared it very closely to this one. The only part that was damaged on the FO was the corner mirror that shows wider view. While the shape and the connection ring first appeared to be a match, up on closer inspection it is not the case.On the FO mirror the posts that have the teeth to secure the mirror to the connection ring on the end showed no wear or tear which you would think it should show some after 8/9 years but I guess in this case ford tough is appropriate. The posts that have the teeth to secure the mirror to the connection ring were shorter but I thought no big deal as long as it secures to the connection ring.I had not problems taking off and putting back on the FO mirror, I did this because when I tried putting this mirror on it did not seem to fully secure to the connection ring so I played with the FO mirror to ensure I understood what it took to install it, I had no problems with the FO.If you have ever bent black plastic back and forth you will see the plastic develops white lines where the bend it, this is stress and more than likely the plastic will fail along these white lines. The teeth on this mirror developed these white lines after several attempts to secure this mirror to the connection ring. They were present on the FO mirror.I did eventually get it secured but I am doubtful it will stay and it does not feel as secure as the FO. They also did not include the metal clip for this mirror but I was able to salvage it from the FO mirror.
