We have used this filter type for several years with total satisfaction. It is located in our basement under the kitchen with feeds to the refrigerator ice maker and a dedicated filtered water small faucet. Changing the filter takes only a minute or so. Good tasting water and usually lasts about a year (2 people). Highly recommended!

Review after Installation+ Installed to the cold water line on existing kitchen faucet. 10 minutes. Used teflon tape.+ Opened the cold water faucet. No leaks. Let it run for 10 minutes to get air out of the filter and lines. Afterwards, slightly cloudy water, but cleared up in a glass less than a minute. It's just micro air bubbles. 2 days no cloudy, no bubbles.+ Taste Test: Apec Filter VS Original City water. Taste like RO water, with a hint of mineral taste. No more chlorine taste. No more aftertaste.+ Scale Inhibitor Works: see photos. Heated water in Microwave 3 minutes in two Completely Clear glass containers. Left Photo us original city water in 1 cup. On Right is Apec filtered water in large container+ Hard Water Limescale accumulation occurs with heated water. The Apec 2000P is rated for 1000 gallons of scale inhibiting. 5000 gallons for removing Chlorine, Odor, Various Chemicals.+ Better Tasting Water - What matters most to me, and it passes my test for my water supply.Secondarily it also works for getting rid of LimeScale inside my electric kettle, pots on stove, and microwave containers. How long the filter actually lasts time will tell.I did not test with a TDS meter. This filter will not remove calcium, magnesium or other minerals which are dissolved solids in my city water supply. With this filter removing he excessive chlorine, flouride, chloramine, it tastes 10 times better, with a slight mineral taste. For me taste is great and better buy than the Reverse Osmosis water I was buying in bulk for 35 cents a gallon which has TDS rating of 1Initial Review before InstallationPurchased (CS-2500P) but not installed yet, but will return to update this review; I do a thorough job researching all products I consider. Two items seem to flummox most buyers looking for a better water supply.Better Taste: The bad taste from tap water in most city water supplies is primarily from high levels of Chlorine and Chloramine, any filter with Activated Carbon removes most of it. Bad taste can also be from undissolved solids including algae/bacteria/organic solids, unlikely to see this is municipal water supplies. Activates silver components in some Filters can remove most of that if present. A Brita pitcher covers all this pretty well for better tasteHard Water: 90% of US water supplies contain dissolved minerals you cannot see. TDS meters show Total Dissolved Solids. "Hard Water" solids are primarily a higher % of Calcium and Magnesium creating Scale accumulation, aka LimeScale, showing up in plumbing pipes, fixtures, dishes, glasses, pots, and coffee makers, water heaters. Excessively high Calcium and Magnesium affects Taste factor for most people. Excessive levels shorten life of appliances.Water Softeners: These actually remove solids (TDS) including Calcium and Magnesium by using Ion Exchange flushing water through resin materials. Benefits for excessively hard water supply... no scaling, better taste. Negatives are high cost and large amounts of Salt used to back-flush the Resin particles to remove the minerals. All this salt water goes down the drain.Reverse Osmosis (RO): These also soften water by removing solids and removing sediment/bacteria/algae/etc with pre-filters. Water tastes like plain water with no mineral content. Undersink systems have various Pros and Cons.Water Conditioning for Hard Water: This concerns the (CS-2500P). And conditionin Filter contain a layer of polysulfate crystals which breaks apart the larger solids into micro-crystals still dissolved in the water. The claim is better taste and less scaling. This do not remove any solids, only changes the size. Your satisfaction will vary depending on the amount of Calcium/Magnesium in your water supplyThe Apec (CS-2500P) filter should:+ Remove 97% of chlorine with its bad taste+ Remove 95% of organic material including bacteria/algae IF that is in your water supply.+ Condition the water with plyphospates or polysulfate. Which will inhibit/reduce scaling and potentially give better taste.NOTE: your Satisfaction from any filtration system depends on the composition and quality of your Water Supply

I got this product to replace my reverse osmosis system I bought from this company 10 years ago. I needed something that would retain the minerals but still give me the same filtration that I expect from a high quality system. This was easy to install ,less than half hour. I didn't notice any difference in the performance or flow of water after attaching it to my sink. I bought the used version and it was a great value for my money I bought a second one.

Installed this system one year ago, still on the original filter and still tastes great. Have only recently noticed a very slight slowing, but still, the cold side water pressure is better than most houses without a filter. Happy with it so far

They fit pneumatic lines instead of hydraulics. Maybe guess that's American standard. Amazon sold this on Amazon SG. So be very careful.Having a tough time looking for adapters and fittings

The unit works perfectly. The filters are bit. Easy to install. Not leaks. The only complaint is I needed this unit right away because we couldn’t turn water on with this hooked up. I ordered from Amazon for quick delivery. It was supposed to be delivered on Saturday. The facility is only 45 minutes from where we live. I call c/s. And they assured me that it would be delivered Sunday. But I could see from tracking that it didn’t leave the facility all day. So I called in and she said it would definitely Be delivered by 10 pm. And the website wasn’t updated. It never came Sunday. It was delivered late this morning. I should have went to Jome Depot or Lowe’s it would have been quicker.

Says in the description that it filers out heavy metals. When tested with my TDS reader, the reading was as high as the plain tap water. Filtering out dissolved solids was very important for me. Contacted the manufacturer and was told it only filtered chemicals such as chlorine and fluoride. Ended up returning it.

Ok, so I read the reviews on this before going with it, but it fit the bill for what I wanted: An inline filter for the cold on my faucet. If you are considering this you want this unit because 1> You either can't or don't want to put in a separate filter faucet 2> Are tired of standing at your fridge for filtered water 3> Don't need whole house filtration. This is a 4 month review and I just replaced my first filter. First things, install, if you have basic plumbing skills you can easily install this. Simple, didn't need to get anything other than a couple of wrenches. Second, water quality: Perfect. Tastes of nothing. Third, water flow: It's slightly lower than the hot side, but I'm talking slightly. At 4 months it was still fine. Fourth filter life: It went at about 3.5 months where I could start noticing a taste, that was a litlte disappointing. Until I really started thinking about our water usage in the sink, and yeah we cook and clean daily and probably use, no joke, 2 gallons a day in straight drinking water. Which doesn't include the rinse and run that you do for temp and things so easily double that. Putting this on a cold water line for a kitchen sink is going to run it off quick. Wife and I did a blind taste test on the filter (science!) change and we both agreed (in secret recorded answers) that the filter had gone past life. Honestly, consider the coffee, iced tea, water, cooking, etc, everything that we do this is a bargain .. and no more standing at the fridge waiting forever to fill things up.
