Every other week usage at 12 oz per 10,000 gallons does a great job of deterring and removing Algae. Somewhat expensive but does the job.

I was hesitant about this product as I've tried other similar products but it worked perfectly. I had stubborn black algae on the bottom of my pool that would not come off with a brush. Added this product to the pool and within a few days. Black spots gone.

I bought this chemical thinking I could clear up some black mold spots inside my pool. It just didn't work for me. I'm not blaming the chemical product, I'm sure it probably works in the right hands and knowledge, it just not for a person like myself who is outside his depth of knowledge. Gonna leave this issue to to pool pros.

I tried every other brand, wire brushing, pumice stone scraping, nothing worked..worked on it for months... then i tried this stuff and gradually the black spots started to fade and the brown rings around the spots began to fade too. I bruhed the stains repeatedly and I did another dose, then a maintanence dose and fading continued until the pool looks almost new again.. it takes time to work fully and it does foam if you have a waterfall etc... but it is the ONLY thing that made a significant improvement. give it a try get a couple bottles, you will need to do the follow up doses, and let it work, cause it WILL clean off your plaster and make the pool look great again.

This stuff works. I had tried everything including scrubbing with steel wire brush. Yes it does foam but I’ll take a little foam over hundreds of black spots on the bottom of my pool or hours of scrubbing with a brush. It has taken about a week but the spots are 98% gone.
I buy a lotta stuff

We had a minor black algae issue in our gunite pool (a few spots here and there). We scrubbed the spots and other areas with a stainless steel wire brush, brushed the entire pool with stiff bristled brushes, triple shocked it then waited 2 days to add this algaecide. First, this product has a substantial odor. It actually smells like dish soap or children's bubbles... even after adding to over 30,000 gallons of water, the pool water smelled. Secondly... it FOAMS! We used less than half of the recommended dose. We checked PH, Alkalinity, etc. to make sure that wasn't an issue and all levels were good, so that was not a culprit. We turned the water features on the next day and it looked like a bubble bath where there was moving water. It wasn't horrible but it was pretty bad. I could smell the odor for nearly a week. The odor has now dissipated, but it has been over a week and we are still seeing foam. It seems to have worked (or at least helped) = no algae spots, but it is definitely not non-foaming. As far as functionality goes, so far... it seems to be effective. If you can live with foam and soapy odor, I'd give this a shot. Also - our pool is salt water, so I'm not sure if that contributed to the foaming? As a follow-up - after about 10 days, the foam and the odor subsided. The pool looks great. I'm satisfied with the product and the results, but was disappointed in the foam and odor that persisted for well over a week.
