I tried this today. Story time: 2012 dodge challenger sxt had a vibration above 80. I figured shocks, struts, or control arm bushings, but I was wrong. There was play in the driveshaft while in park, so I was recommended a driveshaft. They were sourcing a $900 Precision brand driveshaft, or $700 Dorman brand and adding 2.2 hours of shop labor for a grand total of $1700-$1900 dollars, with their markup for ordering the part. I received similar estimates from other shops in the area.I bought this instead. It has everything you need. The assembly itself is like 8 bolts and being sure to line it up the same way the other came out. There's a foil heat shield to remove and you have to move some of the exhaust. It took us 90 minutes with a lift, the right tools, and 2 guys. I've only driven about 45 miles so far but the vibration I had originally been looking to fix is gone. I was able to touch triple digits, torque on it a bit, and test it out, and so far so good. Vibration cleared.THERE IS ONE CONCERNING OEM DISCREPANCY: The original part is slightly different than this one in at least one way. There is a cylinder on the rear of this assembly that bolts into the rear differential. It's the flatter, wider cylinder on the very rear end of the driveshaft.This cylinder is slightly thinner than the original, causing the bolts to possibly be too long, with a danger of rubbing on the rear differential. It's about 1/4" different and enought to see with the naked eye. But mine is fine, it's a bit close, but has some sunlight between it. I'd prefer it have been the same measurements exactly and is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.The overall length is correct and functional. And it is balanced.For me, a year is about 30k miles. I will update this review ONLY if I find I have an issue over the next year. If there is nothing below this line, there are no new updates.
