Great starter, make sure you run an 8-10 awg wire to the solenoid for proper spring override for the bindex. Put it in a 1967 Olds 442 Cutless. Lots of room between that compact starter and the headers. Comes with shims and the block allows for two clock positions. Turned that 500hp big block over like it had stock compression.

Truck hardly had any hours on it, doesn’t work well. Gear grinded lots until I added more shims, eventually broke the gear off

Only lasted a month. After hours of shimming. It still hit the flex plate . Found out the holes were not right . And finally bought more shims to shim out instead of up and down. The starter locked up . Bought a new mini torque starter . No shims needed and still working no problem . U get what u pay for

Arrived on time and exactly what I ordered. Bought this starter to replace the orginal large starter. Upgraded my 1957 Chevy with headers and the orginal starter would not fit. This starter was small enought to fit perfectly and has the torgue to spin the motor easly. This is the starter I will buy in the future for other cars I work on. Good price - not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. A good balance of price and performance but also it fits ( this was the 3rd starter I ordered - the other were just allittle bigger and would not fit inside the hearders.).

It's was the starter I ordered, red and chrome small high torque mini starter, it was just used, our refurbished, or something, plus all the pictures had the new smaller bolts, schims and spacers, what I got was just the starter, nothing else, so just read the description first, I went back to read it and it said nothing about being used or refurbished,, don't know yet if it works, waiting on the bolts I had to order, will update later,

a bit of a pain in the a** to get spaced properly from the flexplate. It came with one janky spacer and after have the starter in and out 3 times I took my angle grinder to the spur gear and shaved off what I needed for clearance. So far so good.
