The 1.5 HP AQUASTRONG In/Above Ground Pool Pump has more than enough water flow for my 24' above ground pool and sand filter. When the pump is running the noise level is very low and it feels made from durable materials. I would have preferred different outlet sizes to match my one-and-a-half-inch flexible water lines. I took an outlet to the hardware store and was able to adapt them down fairly easy, but it was time and money I didn't need to spend if a simple adapter had been included with the pump. The outlets with this pump do not fit an above ground 1.5" water hoses you will have to adapt them down (see pics). Compared to some of the other pumps out there this Aquastrong pump is a good value for the money and offers the same functionality and suction power as the other brands. The timer is easy to use and super convenient being built right into the pump.

I tested several different brands of pump, and this is my favorite for overall value.It's basically a drop-in replacement for my Hayward, but less than half as expensive.So I've had good experience with Aquastrong, and I expect no less from this one. It's the same sturdy construction, plus a 2 year warranty.I like the built-in timers - they seem to work better than external timers. For some reason, the integrated timers almost never need priming. The downside is, if the timer goes bad then you have to replace the whole pump. For how inexpensive this is, I still think it's worth it.And, after much research, I concluded the best style pump was single speed on a timer. Some areas require variable speed or dual speed - which does not save any electricity for most pools and seems like a scam. For most pools with a deep in, when the pump switches to the lower speed - it's only skimming water off the top and doesn't actually cycle the pool and therefore is just a waste of electricity. If you think about it, the dual speed doesn't actually make sense - if your pool requires a 1.5HP, why would you get a 1.5HP then run it at 0.75HP? If 0.75HP works for your pool, just get the smaller size. But the fact is it doesn't work, it's just a waste of electricity. The best option is single speed on a timer.The timer on this is another great feature, so simple to operate. Just click the button you want - 8 hours, 10 hours, 12 hours, etc. For me, I click the 12 hour button at 9am, then it will run for 12 hour cycles indefinitely, until I turn it off. So simple - no apps, no programming, just one click.My only complaint is that this only comes with 2 inch adapters. I'll have to buy some 1.5 inch adapters.

I am very familiar with the AQUASTRONG brand of pool pumps, and I can confidently say that this 1.5HP Above-Ground Pool Pump with Timer (115V, 8100 GPH) does not disappoint. The pump is well-made and includes the necessary adapters (they must be used)for attaching to 1.5" and 2" schedule C-PVC plumbing. It is durable and effectively performs its primary function: moving water. While I cannot verify the GPH rating, I would estimate it to be in that range. The actual flow will always be influenced by factors such as plumbing size, length, number of turns, and variations in voltage.The filter basket is designed to hold a significant amount of debris, preventing it from passing through your pump. It can be easily removed using the included spanner wrench to loosen the transparent lid. The pump is equipped with a 110V-115V cord that has a standard U.S. plug. As with all pumps, be sure to connect it to a circuit that is protected by a GFCI.One important feature that some bargain pumps lack is a drain plug for the filter basket well and a separate drain for the impeller housing. This pump includes both features, which is crucial for draining any remaining water completely before winter storage.In terms of noise, it doesn't seem any louder than other pumps in its category. You can easily have a conversation with someone standing next to it while it's running. I know for certain that the neighbors cannot hear it.The pumps included in do-it-yourself swimming pool kits are often underpowered and last only a season or two. For optimal water health, a pool should cycle its entire volume at least once a day, preferably twice. Unfortunately, standard kit pumps usually can't manage this. Upgrading to a more efficient pump with a timer will keep your water clean and save you money by allowing for proper run times. Please know that this pump can also be used for spas, koi ponds, waterfalls, fountains, and other water features.Conclusion: This pump exceeds my expectations, which is my requirement for a five-star rating. It is also priced well below other brands of pumps, which makes it a bargain. I recommend it. I hope you found this review helpful. Thanks for reading!
