I bought this thumb release in preparation for deer season. It releases nicely and can be adjusted to be very sensitive. I have not had a thumb release to know if it is loud in comparison, but there is an audible click upon release. the craftsmanship seems top not and the finish is good.NOTE* I had to return the first one after stripping the screws for the arm length/placement adjustment. In order to avoid that on the second one, I put some clear nail polish on the screw before reinserting. I recommend doing this or using some blue thread lock.

I get it y’all. Want to save some money and try a thumb release. Well this is definitely not it. Having to manually close the jaw on the D-loop is the start of my dislike. The fact that it will release on its own is a huge NOPE from me. Luckily I had an arrow in and only bad that happened was a broken shaft. Not a cheap shaft by any means. Still better than blowing up my bow though. So please, don’t buy this release. Save your money and get a good used one. You do get what you pay for after all.

It is okay for the money the thumb barrel needs work and mechanism- but for the money I would stick it in a bag just in case back up all.else fails - I shoot the spot hogg whipper snapper and prefer it over this. ALSO THE ADJUSTMENT SCREW STRIPPED LIKE AS SOON AS I TRIED ADJUSTING IT LEAVE IT ALONE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT
