These are lovely! The leather is thin (as in not bulky - it feels well constructed and durable). I'm pairing these with Ariat's V Sport paddock boot. I followed Ariat's size guide - my calf is 13.25" and height from barefoot to back of knee is 16.5" so I ordered XS. It is a very snug fit, but I've heard that's best for leather half chaps as the leather will stretch. Previously I have only owned suede half chaps - these are much more luxurious and stylish!

My daughter is 11 years old (~5'2" and 88 lbs) and she wears XS. They fit her so well. She loves them.
