This gauge works great and is very accurate. My rod bolts all came out perfectly with the exact amount of bolt stretch. Well worth the cost to ensure rod bolts are to spec. Using Callie’s ultra H beam with ARP 2000 bolts and ultra torque lube. Make sure to use a trusted and calibrated torque wrench and ultra torque lube!

Glad I saved up for this, the spring is Very stout, it keeps it's setting always. Do yourself a favor and skip the cheapo ones that you gotta modify or hope for the best, I've got Way too much in my motor to cheap out on the tools.

Good tool but the instructions are very basic. If you haven't used one before then you should know that the bottom (as pictured) prong needs to be adjusted so that the top prong has to push in roughly 1/3 of its length to fit the bolt. Not doing so will result in low compressive force which leads to tool working, but jumping all over the place with the slightest movement which makes it very hard to be precise. So, if having that issue, try moving the bottom prong up to decrease space between the two prongs.

This ARP tool is worth the extra money over knock-offs. I had borrowed a Jegs branded copy, they use a way cheaper dial indicator that gives inconsistent bolt length readings. This gives rock solid measurements, recommend 10 out of 10 to spend the extra money

Obviously being an ARP tool it is going to bee high quality. Do now waste your time with the cheap ones...not making that mistake again.

Dose the job right. But quality is really good. I think if you get 2 of them you can finish check the stretch on both bolts on the rod faster better than checking it twice.
