Most archery sets for kids are junky toys. This is actually well built and will hold up to heavy use and a bit of abuse. We really like it.

I'm not a well-versed archer, but I understand the basics and this is a nice quality set for practicing with and will work adequately for a fairly broad spectrum of sizes. My kids, obviously, are still too young for a bow of this size, but it handles very well for both my husband and I. The included arrows are nice too and great for target practice (we like aiming at the bounce house when it's safely empty since it's got a target on it already and we know it won't get damaged thanks to the thick foam padded tips). The bow itself is very straightforward to assemble and I had it together in a matter of minutes, plus it performs well regardless of if you shoot left or right handed (I happen to shoot left and my husband right); it's also very durable and has held up well thus far during use. Definitely want to make sure you're wearing the proper protective gear though as I was a little too enthusiastic and didn't gear up the first time I used it and the bowstring got me pretty good when I was testing it. Great starter bow!

My son and I are beginner level archers with recurve bows we shoot at a range. This ArrowSoft bow and arrow set looked like a fun with to get in some muscle stretching and light practice. It’s also fun the show friends a little archery in a safe setting. The set comes with a bow that needs assembly plus six arrows with red or blue foam ends. The box is fairly easy to setup by following the instructions that are included in the box. The limbs I assume I fiberglass while the riser or handle piece is nylon/plastic. The bow appears to pull about 13-15 pounds so the speed of the arrows is light. If you hit someone it might sting but nothing serious (just don’t aim at anyone’s face). You can give the bow string a few twists before putting on to the bow to improve the draw weight a little. The product description mentions it pulls up to ~ 20lbs.The arrows are nicely built. They are made of the same nylon/plastic as the bow handle. The ends have a firm foam piece that’s like an oversized marshmallow. On the back end, there is a nock which has a groove so that you can secure the arrow to the bow string. This set didn’t include a target so we used one of our archery bags. Hitting the bag on the upper half, these arrows can have enough force to tip the bag over. My son also enjoyed the challenge of trying to manually throw these arrows at the target (with low success due to the heavy arrowhead weight). I considered buying more arrows but was surprised to learn how expensive LARP arrows cost. This type of safe play archery is great, but I didn’t expect it to be so similar in cost to low-end/budget traditional archery.

Although I have real high-end bows and arrows, there are just times when because of inclement weather or travel, or having neighbors’ pets in the vicinity, I can’t use them but want a fun alternative training tool, and this Soft Store Set is great for that. I found I can also shoot these arrows with my high-end bows for increased power. The Large Adult bow has a very minimal draw weight of only 22-pounds, but it is still a lot of fun despite the low weight, which is all the weight that is necessary for the foam tipped arrows. The bow itself is made of fiberglass and nylon, and the foam tipped arrows appear to be fiberglass as well. So be careful with them as they can be prone to splintering if bent too far.The arrows themselves are 34-inches long from nock to foam tip, and they are fletched well with durable synthetic vanes that retain their shape. The foam tips are approximately 2.5-inches long with a 2.25-inch diameter. Assembly was pretty straightforward, and the instructions are basic and easy to follow. If you are not accustomed to installing a string on a bow, that would be the only part that could be difficult, but it is not onerous. The instructions didn’t mention it, but I gave the string 8-10 twists to spread the load between the individual strands for increased string longevity and to tighten things up a bit and increase the brace height and make the bow more efficient.Be aware that the kits on this listing do *not* come with the pop-out target that is shown in the listing’s video and in some of the photos. That is sold either separately or with kits on a different listing posted by this seller. Additional arrows can also be purchased separately. This listing is for either just the bow or kits with the bow and six arrows. I am using this with a regular archery target, as well as with empty soda cans on a sawhorse which is just as fun without the extra expense. Sometimes I hit the target hard enough that the foam on the arrow causes it to fly back towards me, from which we all get a good laugh. The bow itself has a knock point for grabbing the string and aligning the arrow, but it is not necessary to use it. Playing with this kit is a whole lot of fun that is safe for any backyard or beach use. The arrows are brightly colored, so they are easy to find if you miss your target. It’s also a nice training aid and for the price seems to be a good value.
