First thing that you will notice how small yet hefty this thing is. Instant feeling of great build quality. The tiny screen is well readable even in bright light and is recessed slightly to avoid any scratches. There is one dial and one button and combined they make an okay job of menu navigation. That is to say, its not the easiest in the world and would take some getting used to. The dial and button are very high quality like rest of the unit. While the shape of the unit is slightly odd compared to some other light meters, it does not interfere in the handling of the camera. I don't think many people will like how it sits on the camera though. The operation, wake up speed and in general menu navigation is fairly quick. Any changes in the light are quickly noted by the sensor so absolutely no issues on that front. The readings are from 30 degree "view" which is fairly normal and enough for almost all types of photography. All in all, highly recommended for anyone looking to buy shoe mount meter but if you already have the previous gen AHM1 meter, I don't see much of an upgrade. It sure looks interesting though and the price is right.

Review for: "AstrHori XH-2 Camera Light Meter Photography 40-Stop Shutter Speed Set-top Reflection Light Meter Hot/Cold Shoe Fixing Continuous Metering for About 10 Hours (Black)"It is actually much smaller in person. It has 30 degree average metering, so basically it is comparable to 50mm APS-C camera or 80 mm full frame.I compared it with Sony A6700 average metering and it is pretty accurate within 1/3 stop.It has 3 adjustable parameter: Aperture, Speed and ISO. It is controllable with one push button. The small screen is bright and easy to read.Overall it is a nice average / matrix light meter that very usefulw when your camera does not have one.

The one button on the item broke after only 2 months, and they charged me a restocking fee of almost $20 to return their broken item. Cheap item and cheaper company. Restocking fee for a broken item?!?!
