Noticeably higher quality alloy. This is 3/8" aluminum tube coil just like all the other stuff you normally find, but this product seems to have a protective coating, and the alloy seems stronger than other choices. Other brands seem to sell a much softer tube with no noticeable finish. This alloy is also very weldable (tig) and bendable to small radii. Highly recommended for fabricating custom assemblies.

Reasonable priced aluminum coil. I used this tubing for gas regulator relief vent line.

A few years ago we started doing lighted kayak treks at Christmas down here in the FL Keys. My architect wife decided to mimic the Disney floats and we’ve been making frames and ty wrapping solar leds to them. Really fun. This tubing, in 3/8” is perfect. Forms easily by hand but holds it’s shape.

I ordered the 3/8 aluminum fuel line and it arrived very fast -- so nice job Amazon! If you are connecting this line to rubber gas hose, there are some installation tips online which state that the ends of this aluminum fuel line has to be swedged, which essentially puts a small lip on the end to better prevent rubber hose from coming off. However, swedging is not done by most restorers and mechanics. What you do have to do (highly recommended) is use a rubber hose that slightly smaller than the line. For example, my carb and fuel pump fittings are all 5/16", and will be attached to 5/16" Gates Barricade rubber hose. The 3/8 aluminum line will fit more tightly into the 5/16" rubber hose than 5/16" aluminum line would. (Porsche OEM standards are 8mm aluminum lines and 7 mm rubber hose and fittings). So oversize the aluminum line one size larger than the rubber hose you are connecting to. Also, don't waste money on any rubber gas hose, but rather use Gates Barricade rubber fuel line, which is designed for the acidity of today's ethanol-based fuels. If you are restoring a car(s), then replace all rubber fuel hose everywhere in the car (up front, frame, engine bay, etc.) with Gates Barricade, since newer fuels will eat through old rubber gas hose very fast. The result of fuel line breakage is usually a fire, and no one wants to see their project go up in flames.

I used this tubing to extend the transmission cooler lines up in front of the radiator to install an auxiliary oil cooler on our SUV. I used rubber hose and clamps to make the connections, however, I didn't feel comfortable running rubber lines that far and this stuff makes sharper bends without kinking than you can get out of ther rubber hose. It looks great, and it's easy to work with. I hand bent it over the palm of my hand; you just have to go slowly and work it back and forth. The ID/ OD was perfect for GM transmission cooler lines. Great product. I'd buy again, but at 25 feet (unless I'm replacing fuel line in a vehicle;) I'll probably never have to buy again.
