Arrived on time and in good condition. Rebuild kit did fit the Pentair check valve housing but did not keep the water from leaking out of the spa and into the pool. Actually it’s worse than before.

With the cost of Pentair rebuild flappers, I was happy to try this alternative. The ATIE products came well packaged and in great shape. I used some pool O-ring lubricant on the included O-ring and did not have any trouble getting a good seal. The ATIE rebuild check valves fit precisely and went on easily. It is best to hand tighten the screws to achieve a good seal while not over-tightening and risking a crack. These rebuild kits a are a great value and I highly recommend them.

Old unit's white gasket material gummy & disintegrated & non-functional. It lasted about 8 years. Removed old one (screws were tight), old ring gasket missing, cleaned out seat to ensure good seal of new one. Installed new one, seated nicely, applied lube to new o-ring/cap and screwed down new lid to loose fit then tightened them all gradually. Result: no leak, no siphoning/emptying of spa when shut down. Happy with performance so far.

I really wanted this product to work! The description of it being a better OEM part with tighter seal, better rubber seal, and stainless steel construction for longevity at 1/3 price seemed too good to be true. Unfortunately it was too good to be true. This check valve installs very easily and would seem that it should work great. Unfortunately, the flapper does not seem to cover the hole in the valve completely. The spring on this replacement flapper is very strong so it does cover the hole when water not flowing. The problem would seem to be the design of the flapper itself. Above is a picture of the Pentair original part that I removed. You can notice that the original part is more oval and it has more convexity to it. I suspect that this replacement part does not quite fit tight enough. As a result I lose about 7” of water over night in my spa. While I was previously losing 10” of water with the original Pentair product that is 10 years old (see above), a difference of 3” is useless. I had purchased two of these and replaced another older original Pentair flapper, so now I have two check flow valves that are still leaking backward overnight into my salt chlorinator that is just in front of them. Will have to try the original Pentair part that doesn’t seem to be of the construction they were 10 years ago and ask for a refund on these. Frustrating.
