By holding onto the pegs you can climb your way around the board moving from hole to hole. Peg boards are great for building your biceps. And because you can do a variety of pull up style movements on them, they’re also great for building your lats, traps, shoulders, chest, and core.
If you are building your own pegboard, the hole you should drill is a 1-5/16" Forstner hole. The hole needs to be exactly 1-5/16" to accept this 1-1/4" peg.
Not just for rock climbers, anyone can use them to work on their upper body strength as well as their grip and forearm strength. You can work on coordination, core stability, and target areas you wouldn't normally target.
The size of the wooden pegs measures 1-1/4" diameter x 7" long. This set of 2 oak pegs are larger than the standard ones you may find. We recommend that you not choose this product if you are using any other company's pre-made boards because they won't fit. We do offer peg board receivers if you are interested in that.

They are built solid and are longer than the original ones we used in the wrestling room. They fit our peg board perfectly.

So, they looked good and saved me 15m of cutting my own. However, since I ended-up making the climbing peg board I might as well have made these too. But if you can't make a set, or don't want to, these are a good, solid option.

These are extremely solid - red oak - no significant compression after 195lbs pulling in a PEG board. I measured with a dial calipers (Brown and Sharpe) - 1.250. The other reviewer must have gotten a bad set. I was actually hoping for a bit more wiggle since my holes are 1 1/4 drilled - leaving just a few thousandths due to run out in the drill.
